Conversational English Program

Generalities

  • Teachers with English Level C1 and Native Teachers.
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
  • Duration: From 1 week to 4 weeks.
  • Airport transportation and Tours.
  • Modality: In person and Virtual.
  • Shared lodging (double).
  • Classes (Mon-Fri).
  • Leveling Test.
  • 6 modules.

General Objective

To provide theoretical-practical training based on the concept of language as historical- social production, in whose process of understanding and mastery it is required the apprehension of the structures that generate and particularize it both from the linguistic level, as from the culture of which it is a product.

Specific Objectives

  • To offer the knowledge and develop skills that allow the student properly use the English language as an essential communication vehicle.
  • To offer the required vocabulary, in a variety of formats during the interaction and development of the class.
  • To develop the communicative competence of English as a foreign language in different social contexts.
  • To develop in students the ability to process information directly and begin to express themselves in familiar contexts.
  • To discriminate the intonation and natural rhythm of the English language.
  • To develop grammar, written, oral and listening skills for the language management.
  • To apply theoretical - practical knowledge of normative grammar in the different communicative situations.
  • To carry out oral interaction activities in the English class, taking into account the context in which the student operates.
  • To enhance the development of language skills: oral and written comprehension, expression and interaction language skills.

Student's profile 

Participants must have initiative and commitment to the program. In addition, it is advisable to take into consideration the following aspects:

  • Be older than 15 years.
  • Have completed primary school.
  • It is important that the participants have a notebook, for some modules.
  • Have a device or telephone that can connect to the Internet or access to move to the university facilities, where a computer with Internet access will be provided.

 

Output profile

  • Able to provide clear and concise knowledge of the English language.
  • Creates, develops and works on investigative projects related to language learning.
  • Professional knowledge of the English language in a general, technical and professional manner.
  • Masters learning techniques in different social and academic contexts.
  • Ability to achieve effective communication in the English language.

Methodology

  • A diagnostic instrument will be applied to collect information on the status of the interested parties, their nature and the level of English they have; A1, A2, B1, B1+ and B2.
  • The methodology combines magisterial presentation by the teaching staff with practical work in class and extra class assignments.
  • The dynamics of the program combines theory and practice, which are supported by the Oxford books.
  • Regular tests are developed to determine the progress of the participants.
  • The university has an online and in-house platform; this platform has educational resources for the student to develop. in a better way in the educational area, allowing access to virtual libraries, virtual classroom, work schedules, forums, online tests, internal chat, access to upload and modification of work, among others.

Levels

General Objectives per Level

A1

To understand simple, frequently used everyday expressions intended to satisfy immediate needs.

A2

To understand frequently used phrases and expressions related to areas of experiences that are especially relevant to you, (basic information about yourself and your family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, among others).

B1

To understand the main points of plain texts and in standard language about familiar issues and work, study or leisure situations.

B2

To understand the main ideas of complex texts that deal with concrete, abstract topics within their field of expertise.

C1

To understand a wide variety of oral, written, long texts and with a certain level of demand, where they identify implicit meanings.

C2

To easily understand what is heard or read. Construct the information and arguments from various sources, in spoken or written language, in a coherent and summarized way.
